Blessings for Sick or Injured Pets
Heavenly Father, we ask for your mercy that this beloved small
creature, which is your own, be not in pain. We ask that health be
restored and sustain if it is your will so that they be allowed to stay
with us a little longer here in this world, where they are needed.
We ask that if there is medical care needed, that the way be
provided. We ask that this one does not suffer needlessly. We ask
for your compassion and grace that this one be healed through your
love, through your mercy and through the help of those here on
earth, through whom your love comes forth.
In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, we ask
these things not for ourselves, but for this small life that is so
precious and carries the light of your love.
Amen.
Blessings for Pets in the Hospital
Beloved God, we ask that while this little one is in the hospital,
that they be not afraid, that they be comforted and warm, that they
remain free of pain and their recovery is quickened. We ask that
those who care for them do so with loving kindness and compassion.
We ask that if it is your will that this beloved pet is to go home to
heaven, that their time comes quickly and comfortably so that they
know no pain. We ask that you bless the hospital so that not only
the pets are helped and comforted, but that the doctors and their
staff are allowed to do what is needed so that they see healings and
recovery from the good works that they do.
We ask these blessings in the name of the Father and the Son and
the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Blessings for Pets in Pain
Beloved merciful Lord, we know that in nature you do not allow your
creatures to suffer. As you have allowed us the utmost generous
gift of your creatures into our lives, we ask that we are able to keep
them from suffering in pain. Bless us with understanding to know
when our pet is hurting, because we as humans cannot always
know. Our pets cannot tell us with words and sometimes we are so
busy in our lives that we do not see the signs of pain. Teach us to
be more sensitive to our pet's needs. Help us to find the resources
to restore health and to keep them from pain. Show us the way
Lord, to keep the sacred trust of dominion over your little ones.
Help us to live up to that trust and to honor the life that you have
blessed us with so that they do not live in pain as a result of living
with human beings.
We ask this blessing from the sincerity of our hearts and with
humility, in Jesus name. Amen.
Blessings for Elderly Pets
Beloved Lord, Bless this dear one that has given so much love for
so long. Bless them, that they are given comfort as their time draws
near; that they are able to stay in their home with their familiar things
and with their human family, that they so love until that time comes.
We pray that although they are aging now and draw closer to their
time left here in this physical world, that they would be free from pain
and suffering and that they will continue to feel joy and our love.
We ask your blessings that when the time comes that are called
home, that each day left with us is one of quiet love and peaceful
companionship. We thank you for the time you have given us with
our pet and for your grace in allowing our pet to stay so long here
on this earth and to richly bless our lives.
In Jesus name, we thank you and ask these things. Amen.
Blessings for Rescued Pets
Heavenly Father, we are deeply grateful that this little one has been
rescued from the hands of evil-doers that do not honor the sacred
lives of these blessed creatures in your beloved kingdom. We ask
that you continue to watch over this one through your own love, and
that we become servants so that we may take care of this little one.
As this child of yours is blessed to be out of the previous situation
and has come here for physical and emotional recovery, know that
their presence here blesses our own lives. Surely this little one
coming into rescue has opened our own hearts to be ministers of
your love. For love calls love and this is what we find when we help
this one now in our care. We ask that no more harm come to this
precious one and that a lasting a loving home will be the result of
your divine intervention.
In the name of our Lord, we ask these blessings. Amen
Blessings for Lost Pets
Oh, Beloved God, our little one has wandered away. We pray that
somehow they return to us unharmed. If they are unable for some
reason to find their way home, we pray that no harm comes to them
and that they find themselves in the safe haven of others ready to
love them and care for them.
But please, dear Lord, in your mercy we ask that our pet be
returned to us. We love them so and they have so blessed our
lives. Help us to find our pet, and for our pet to find us. Let your
love guide their way home. Watch over them until they return and
make sure that they have food, water, warmth and comfort. Keep
them from being afraid. Our hearts are broken for our loss and we
will do everything we can to make sure that they do not become lost
again. Thank you for blessing us with this wonderful pet and thank
you for giving us another chance at love. We are grateful.
In Jesus name we ask for this blessing for our pet, that they return to
us unharmed. Amen.
Blessings for Pets in Heaven
Our Father in Heaven, thank you for the time that was given to us
with our pet. Through your grace this time was given. We ask you
to now take special care of our beloved one, which is now in the
fields of your Heaven. We know that all creatures return to you as
from Heaven they were sent and to Heaven they return. We ask
that when it comes our time to return to you, that our pet is waiting
there at the gates of Heaven, where we will be reunited.
In Jesus name, we ask you to bless our pet now in heaven with extra
welcoming love. Amen.
Blessings for the New Pet Adoption
Heavenly Father, we ask your blessings for this little one that has
joined a new family. We ask that you bless this precious one of
yours, this one that you created, so that it may bring your
unconditional love and joy into this world and that this pet be able to
bring that expression of your love to this family. We ask that this
family will always be able to provide a loving home for this little one
and that their time together be blessed with the length of days as
well as shared joy and love.
In Jesus name we ask this blessing. Amen.
Blessings for Baby Pets
Heavenly Father, we ask your blessing for this new life, that this
(these) little ones will be blessed to live among people that are kind
and loving to them, as they have come into this world to bring your
love to us through their innocent hearts. May this new life be one of
joyful expression and never fall into hands that will harm them. May
they never be forgotten, neglected or become lost and afraid.
We ask your blessings for this sacred little life, in Jesus name.

Blessings for People with Pets
Heavenly Father, we ask that this family, that has been the recipient
of your pure love and joy through their beloved pet, be blessed with
all the resources that they need to care for and provide for this little
one and that they will be able to always keep their pet with them.
May they be blessed with good veterinary care. May they be
blessed with the financial resources for all care. May they be
blessed with something more important than the length of days with
their pet, as we know this is not always possible. But may they be
blessed with quality time together, time that is filled with comfort, joy,
happy times, companionship and great love. And when the times
come when they must part, let no grief darken the joy that was
shared. Let the living love of this heart continue to beat, as love
never dies.

Blessing for Pets in Grief
Beloved Compassionate Lord, this pet has lost their loved ones and
they grieve as our own hearts grieve. Help this sweet one to accept
this loss and to find joy again in the love that is offered from all
those caring for (him/her.) We acknowledge this animal's loss and
understand the grief of a broken heart. Give us the wisdom and the
patience to help this little one move through (his/her) grief and
regain their happy spirit.
We ask for this mercy in Jesus' name.

Blessings for a Dying Pet
Oh, Beloved most merciful Lord, we thank you for the time together
with our beloved pet. We ask that (his/her) crossing will be peaceful
and painless. We ask that you impart to our pet how much we love
(him/her.) We ask that they cross over Rainbow Bridge with ease,
joy and delight, looking back and seeing us standing there with
shining hearts of love that radiates so great that it reaches them in
Heaven. We ask also for your blessings for our own hearts as we
prepare to let go and give our pet back to you, dear Lord. Bless our
pet's last days that as this life comes to a close, our last days and
hours together are gentle, peaceful and filled with love. Let the
pools of our tears reflect the light of your love. Dear Jesus, meet
our pet at Rainbow Bridge and walk them gently to the beautiful
fields of flowers, where all pets romp and play.
We ask this blessing, dear Lord, in our sincere love and gratitude.

Blessings for Pets Without People
Heavenly Father, please help us to find the family that needs this
pet, for this pet needs them. So much distress has already come to
this little life, and we stand as shepherds and watch over this life, as
Jesus watches over us. We ask you to help this one, as you help us
with your unconditional love and grace. Help us to prepare a way
for this little one to have a loving home, filled with the hearts that will
love this little one just as (he/she) is, for this pet is perfect as you
made it with your own hands of love. We can see that your light
shines in this little ones eyes and your breath of love bathes its
spirit. Lead us in finding the right home, so that (he/she) will not be
a pet alone in a cold cage or kennel, but loved and embraced for all
the rest of their days.
In the love of the Father and our beloved Lord Jesus Christ, we ask
this blessing. Amen.
Prayer for the Pet Just Passed
My Beloved God, I thank you for blessing me with the angel that you
sent to me as my pet. I know that this divine one came from your
Grace, as my very days were blessed by your presence of that one
in my life. For this I am grateful. My heart is released from the
burden of sadness in knowing that we will be reunited again when
we return to our true home in Heaven. Please help me through my
loss with the understanding and knowing that my pet remains with
me in spirit, loving me still as I love them. Thank you for giving me
the time with this divine angel, whom you sent directly from your
love. I have truly been blessed. Amen.
Prayer for The Healing of The Heart
My Beloved God, help me to know the truth from within that,
although my pet has passed away, they live in spirit. Give me the
grace to go within my heart and to feel and know this truth so that I
do not doubt. Help me to regain my balance and my enjoyment of
life by realizing that we are all infinite spirit and that my pet is still
with me in that living spirit. Help me to take those spiritual gifts that
my pet gave and taught to me and use them to give my life a richer
meaning and substance, and to share those things with others.
Thank you for allowing me to care for one of your beloved angels for
the time that we had. Amen.
Prayer for Those Who Mourn
Beloved God,
Give me the grace to mourn with dignity.
Give me the grace to mourn in peace.
Give me the grace to mourn without shame or embarrassment.
Give me the grace to mourn fully so that my heart will be healed.
Give me the grace to mourn out loud and cry until my crying is done.
Give me the grace to mourn the loss of the one I love, and to
understand others when they must face a similar road.
Give me the grace to mourn with patience and to be tolerant of my
own need and to move through this at my own pace.
Give me the grace to accept that I am in mourning and to be at
peace with that while my heart mends.
I pray that my time of mourning will be made easier through the
understanding of that mourning is good for my heart. It is a good
mourning and for that, I am blessed.

The Euthanasia Prayer
Beloved God, Help me to understand that you are/were with me, by
my side, helping me to make the humane decision to end the
suffering of my beloved pet.
Help me to forgive myself, as you forgive me lovingly each day for
my shortcomings, knowing my heart. Help me to understand that it
is good and noble to have the courage to face such a difficult
decision and to make them despite how much it hurts to do so.
Help me to realize that, as my decision was made from love, there is
no reason for me to hang onto the heavy burden of guilt that I feel at times.
Help me to realize that, as you have sent us our beloved pets to be
our guardians, we are their guardians in return and are responsible
for their every need - including their need to be free of pain and suffering.
Help me to realize that our life together was a blessing from you and
that is you who called them home to Heaven, and that I only took
them to the door, where you gratefully and lovingly welcomed them home.
Amen.
Prayer for the Feeling of Loss
Beloved God, I feel so lost and alone since the passing of my loving
pet. Help me to know that the love I feel for my pet remains alive
and can nurture me through this time of adjustment and through my loss.
Help me to understand that nothing is ever lost and that spirit does
not die. When I feel this loss so deeply, remind me of what my life
was before my pet came into my life, so that I can see how much
richer I am now.
Help me to draw upon my happy memories with my pet, just as a
person draws upon money in a bank account. The bank of joy is my
resource that I can spend to help me get through the days ahead.
Help me to transform my feelings of loss into feelings of wonder and
gratitude for having been so blessed with this precious one in my life.
Lord, I am at a loss for words. I am at a loss for love.
Help me to know that I have truly been blessed and that my loss will
turn to gain. Amen.
Prayer for Pets in Our Care
Beloved Lord, you have blessed me with one of your beautiful
creatures in order that I would know your divine qualities of
unconditional love, loyalty, unconditional joy, steadfastness, comfort,
acceptance and forgiveness. For my pet offers me all of these
qualities, for which I strive to offer to my human loved ones.
I pray that as my pet shows me all of these things and more, that I
am able to in return offer always a loving home, a warm bed, clean
water and abundant food, and most of all return the unconditional
love, loyalty and companionship that my pet brings to me.
I pray that my pet is given length of days, but mostly I pray that the
days here on earth are filled with joy and free of pain and suffering.
Should my pet ever become lost, please bring my pet to safety. If
my pet should ever become ill, help us to get the proper care so that
health returns. If my pet should ever lose me, if I should cross
Rainbow Bridge first, please watch over my pet and find a family that
loves (him/her) as deeply and as loyally as I do. And if my pet
should pass over into Heaven, I pray that my own heart will be
healed from grief and that one day I will be given another little one
for which to care. I offer this prayer in the name of Jesus Christ, our
Lord. Amen.
Prayer for Kindness and Compassion
Dear God, I know that a more kind and compassionate world comes
naturally as a result of spreading kindness and compassion from
each person to another. Help me to be a bringer of kindness and
help me to feel compassion for all that I meet. I pray that each day I
awake with a renewed passion for compassionate ways of being,
and with a renewed commitment to kindness for all of your creatures
- including those that have trespassed against me or have been
unkind. Teach me to dwell in kindness and compassion, and to let it
flow from me as water. I pray for this so that I can do your works in
this world. Amen.
Blessings for All Creatures, Great & Small
Oh Dearest Father, we have so much gratitude for all of your
creatures, great and small and are in awe of your greatness. For
you created each one, just as you created us. You know every hair,
you know every breath and you control every heartbeat in every
living thing. Help us to see the reflection of your love in your entire
creation. We are so grateful that you have given us, as stated in
the Bible, dominion over the animals on this earth. We ask your
blessings that we become increasingly wiser and better in caring for
them, as you have called us to do. We come to you with contrite
hearts and ask your forgiveness for all animals that have suffered at
the hands of humankind and ask that you help us turn ourselves
around to become more kind-humans. We are deeply grateful for
placing us in the position for helping your beautiful animal kingdom.
We realize in reading about Noah how important animals are to your
creation. We realize that you call us to care for them. We ask your
blessings so that we can do better. We ask your blessings for all of
your beautiful animals, that they continue to thrive and be protected
from harm. We thank you for these blessings and for giving us
hearts that feel for them. We ask you to bless all the creatures on
your beautiful earth - all creatures, great and small.
